I love and am inspired by our state. As a native son of Washington, I pledge to secure our place on the front line of thinking, science, and innovation, and care of its resources and people.
We need to create student growth goals that recognize vocational skills, the arts and health; make social studies and science a higher priority; and discuss reducing standardized testing as a litmus or cure-all.
We need to make better care more readily available to the most vulnerable within our community.
We must raise the level of discourse by addressing the health of our aqueducts, drinking water and great watersheds.
We need to focus on Federal funding of local projects that improve, not just change, infrastructure for first responders, computer systems, earthquake mitigation and cellular communications.
